Do you know which records your library needs to keep and for how long? Could you easily find a record requested by a patron? Are you protecting your library’s liability by disposing of records you no longer need to keep? If you answered “no” to any of the above, come learn how to properly manage the official records of your public or municipal library. Following a hands-on detective-based theme, participants will learn how to effectively apply records retention guidelines to specific documents. At the end of this workshop, participants will leave with the knowledge of how to organize their library’s records, how to keep them properly retained or destroyed year after year, be able to find requested records quickly, and they may just leave with their very own Clue board game!
